Ca$h Out Charged With A RICO
Atlanta-based rapper Ca$h Out has been convicted on multiple charges, including sex trafficking, rape, and violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The verdict also implicated his mother, Linda Smith, and co-defendant Tyrone Taylor, who were found guilty on similar charges. Ca$h Out now faces a potential sentence of 25 years to life in prison, marking a dramatic fall for the artist once celebrated for his 2012 hit "Cashin’ Out."
Ca$h Out was first indicted in April 2022, alongside five others, in a 41-count indictment that accused him of leading a criminal enterprise under the guise of his music career. Prosecutors alleged that he used his celebrity status and his record label, Pyrez Music Group LLC, to lure vulnerable women into prostitution through deception and coercion.
Ca$h Out’s fall from a promising music career to a convicted felon serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of criminal activity, even for those in the spotlight. As Fulton County authorities continue to combat sex trafficking, Ca$h Out case underscores the need for vigilance in protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
