USC Is Launching A New Course On Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Creative Enterprise
The University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism has announced a first-of-its-kind course centered on Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack empire. Titled The Creative Enterprise: Learning from Cactus Jack, the class will debut in the Fall 2026 semester and offer students unprecedented, real-world access to one of music’s most innovative creative platforms.
The course positions Cactus Jack, not just as a record label or merch brand, but as a full-spectrum creative ecosystem, as a living case study. Students will examine how Scott and his team transform raw ideas into global phenomena spanning music, fashion, live events, media, and cross-industry collaborations. From record-breaking stadium tours and chart-topping albums like Utopia to category-defining apparel drops and multidisciplinary ventures, the curriculum promises to unpack the strategy, systems, and decision-making that fuel cultural impact at the highest level.
Immersive Experience
Unlike traditional lecture-based classes, The Creative Enterprise treats students as "embedded researchers" inside the Cactus Jack ecosystem. They’ll gain direct insight into how projects are conceived, scaled, and sustained, from touring logistics and product development to high-stakes partnerships across fashion, sports, business, and technology.
A cornerstone of the course is its weekly lecture series featuring leaders from the extended Cactus Jack network. These conversations will provide a real-time window into the intersection of business strategy and creative output. The semester culminates in a final presentation in which select student-generated concepts will be reviewed directly by Travis Scott and his executive team, offering aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs a rare opportunity to receive feedback from one of the industry’s most visionary figures.
Why It Matters
At a time when the lines between artist, entrepreneur, and cultural architect are increasingly blurred, The Creative Enterprise reflects USC Annenberg’s commitment to studying culture as it happens. For students interested in music, fashion, media, branding, or entrepreneurship, the class offers more than theory; it delivers a front-row seat to one of the most dynamic creative machines in the industry today.
Enrollment details are expected to be released by the Annenberg School closer to the Fall 2026 semester. Whether you’re a Trojan student dreaming of launching the next big cultural movement or simply curious about how Travis Scott turned a rap career into a multifaceted empire, this course promises to be one for the books.
