A Rolling Loud Movie Is Coming To Theaters

In a year already packed with blockbuster releases, one of the most unexpected crossovers between mainstream comedy and hip-hop culture just dropped its first teaser: Rolling Loud The Movie. The film, which blends raunchy laughs, father-son bonding gone wrong, and the chaotic energy of the world’s largest hip-hop festival, is set to hit theaters on October 2, 2026.

Directed and written by Jeremy Garelick, who wrote the Hangover franchise, the R-rated comedy is produced by Live Nation Studios and American High in collaboration with the actual Rolling Loud festival. It marks the first time the iconic hip-hop event, known for headlining sets by Travis Scott, Future, and Cardi B, has been turned into a feature-film backdrop with real artists making cameos.

The story follows an overprotective, by-the-book dad (Owen Wilson) who makes what he calls a “cool dad” decision: sneaking his 13-year-old son (Christian Convery) into Rolling Loud. What starts as an attempt at bonding quickly spirals into a lost-kid-in-a-mosh-pit nightmare filled with eccentric festival volunteers, security chases, wild crowds, and plenty of family dysfunction.

Matt Rife co-stars as the dad’s reckless co-worker, while Henry Winkler and Olivia Luccardi round out the core cast. Real hip-hop stars steal scenes in cameo roles, including Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, and Ski Mask the Slump God.
