Latto New Album Sold 32K In The First Week
Latto is back in a major way. Her fourth studio album, 'Big Mama', released May 29, 2026, through Streamcut and RCA Records, has arrived with solid first-week numbers and strong critical support.
According to Hits Daily Double’s Top 50 chart for the week ending June 4, 2026, Big Mama debuted at No. 16 with 32,953 equivalent album units.
This marks one of the biggest opening weeks of Latto’s career, slightly ahead of the 29,000 units her previous album Sugar Honey Iced Tea moved in its first week in 2024.
The project’s performance was driven heavily by streaming, with fans quickly adding tracks to playlists in the days after release. While pure sales were modest, the overall package performed well enough to land inside the top 20 on the industry’s early chart.
Pitchfork gave Big Mama a career-high 7.3/10, calling it Latto’s most cohesive album to date. Reviewer Mankaprr Conteh praised her sharp pen, the blend of trap, soul samples, and Afrobeats, and the way she balances motherhood, romance, and boss energy throughout the project.
Fans on social media have been largely positive as well, with many highlighting the GloRilla and Doja Cat collaborations as standouts and appreciating the more vulnerable moments on the record.
