Kodak Black Collapses On Stage In Tampa, Set Ends After Five Songs

Fans are sending good thoughts to Kodak Black after a video from his Halloween weekend set in Tampa showed the rapper falling to the stage. His performance ended after just five songs. As of Monday, Nov. 2, no one from his team or the venue had explained what happened, so here is what has been reported and what hasn't.

What the Video Shows

According to AllHipHop, video from Kodak's performance at Nightmare on Channelside shows him fall to the stage and then make several sudden movements as people around him rush in. Crew members and security appear to move toward him while the music continues.

AllHipHop is clear about the limits of that clip: the footage doesn't show what led up to the fall, and it doesn't establish what caused the movements that followed. HotNewHipHop reports that those closest to Kodak rushed to his aid, and that he was eventually able to get up and walk away. The outlet described the moment as what "appeared to be a medical episode," which is its own characterization of the video, not a confirmed diagnosis.

A longer clip adds another wrinkle. VICE reports that a separate video appears to show Kodak's show being shut down, with him walking off stage and then returning, and that his mic and music seem to have been cut, possibly at the direction of venue management. VICE stresses that this is not confirmed, and says there's no indication medical intervention was necessary.

The Show and the Setlist

Nightmare on Channelside was billed as a major Halloween concert at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, with Kodak, Meek Mill and DaBaby among the advertised acts. The concert was held on Oct. 31, and the Kodak set ran late. Per AllHipHop, he performed from roughly 12:20 a.m. to 12:35 a.m., which means his set ran into the early hours of Nov. 1. HypeFresh reports that doors opened at 6 p.m., with the overall show advertised to begin around 7 p.m.

The timing stood out too. AllHipHop notes that the arena's event page listed a 7 p.m. start, but the available set information places Kodak much later in the night.

Kodak got through five songs: "Versatile," "Skrilla," "ZEZE," "Roll in Peace," and "Skrt." After that, the performance ended. HypeFresh attributes the set times to setlist records, and AllHipHop calls them "roughly" accurate, so treat the exact minutes as approximate.

What We Don't Know

This is the part that matters most, so we'll be direct. As of Nov. 2, AllHipHop and HypeFresh report that neither Kodak's representatives nor the venue have publicly explained what happened, and HotNewHipHop says no update on his condition and no cause have been given. We don't know whether he got medical attention, where he went after the set, or how he's feeling now.

HotNewHipHop notes that the lack of information has led to widespread online speculation. We're not adding to it. Hip Hop Slime will not guess at a cause, because nobody who knows has said anything, and a few seconds of fan video can't tell us. Until Kodak or someone authorized to speak for him gives an account, the footage is the only public evidence of the moment, and it doesn't answer the big questions.

Fan Reaction

Reports described Kodak as having "collapsed," and AllHipHop says fans were calling for prayers. Urban City Podcast Group adds that fans inside the building and fans watching the clip online spent the weekend doing the same. The clip has spread widely, and the concern is understandable. A performer going down in front of a crowd is scary, no matter who it is. HypeFresh notes that some online discussion has mixed worry with questions about whether the moment was exaggerated, and we'd ask fans to hold off on that kind of talk until there's real information. Right now, the only thing anyone can fairly say is that a person fell on stage, a set ended early, and an update is still pending.

What to Watch For

Keep an eye on Kodak's official social media accounts and any statement from his team or from Benchmark International Arena. Those would be the places a confirmed update shows up. We'll update this story if one is released.

In the meantime, if you want to revisit the music, browse Kodak Black albums and vinyl and show some love to the catalog while we wait on word. Kodak, a Pompano Beach native per HypeFresh, has long been one of Florida's most recognizable rap voices.

Hip Hop Slime is wishing Kodak good health. If you were in the building on Halloween night and want to share what you saw, let us know in the comments, and please keep it respectful. We'll bring you the update as soon as there's something confirmed.
