The Roots Get A Street Named After Them In Philly

The City of Philadelphia has named a street after the Legendary band The Roots. Philadelphia’s City Council will now recognize East Passyunk Avenue as the official avenue of the Roots.

"They made a name for themselves and, being from Philadelphia, they still promote Philadelphia, which is a great thing" - Mark Squilla

The idea to name a street after The Roots came after Biggie got a street named after him in Brooklyn.
