Lil Uzi Vert Has Signed With ROC Nation Distribution
Lil Uzi Vert has officially parted ways with a major label and has announced a pivotal signing to Roc Nation Distribution. He marked his new independent era with the release of the song "Chanel Boy" as the first release under his new deal.
Uzi's journey with labels has been anything but smooth. Signed to DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint under Atlantic Records in 2015, they skyrocketed to fame but hit turbulence along the way. A high-profile dispute in 2019 led to a management deal with Roc Nation, Jay-Z's powerhouse firm, which stepped in amid the drama. Fast-forward to 2025: Uzi's out of their Atlantic contract, and this Roc Nation Distribution pact seals the independence they've been teasing.
Roc Nation Distribution President Krystian Santini put it in a statement, "UZI is a global icon and a dynamic force in the music industry, so we’re thrilled to work together with them in this new capacity. Our partnership is centered around empowering UZI to continue building their legacy, with full creative control and the resources to take their artistry to new heights."
