50 Cent Commits $124 Million To Expand G-Unit Film & Television In Louisiana

50 Cent has finalized a groundbreaking deal through his production company, G-Unit Film & Television, to invest $124 million in revitalizing and expanding multiple entertainment venues in Shreveport, Louisiana. The announcement comes hot on the heels of recent successes like the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which Jackson executive-produced and which topped charts in over 50 countries.

This ambitious multi-phase project focuses on three key sites in downtown Shreveport:

  • Renovating the former Stageworks facility for live performances, events, and production use.
  • Modernizing the Millennium Studios campus (now rebranded as G-Unit Studios), which Jackson secured on a long-term lease from the city in 2023.
  • Constructing a new dome-style immersive venue (dubbed the G-Dome) along with a green space park to support large-scale events, film/TV shoots, and digital media.

Governor Jeff Landry and LED officials hailed the deal as a win for economic growth, tourism, and the state's creative sector. A new nonprofit corporation, the Shreveport Film & Entertainment Economic Development Corporation, will oversee the public funds to ensure transparency and accountability.

This $124 million commitment underscores 50 Cent's transformation from hip-hop superstar to savvy entertainment entrepreneur. With ongoing TV deals, upcoming projects, and now a physical infrastructure push, his G-Unit empire shows no signs of slowing down. Shreveport, and the broader film/TV landscape, stands to benefit big time.
