Jay-Z Yankee Stadium Night One Review
Jay-Z kicked off his sold-out three-night run at Yankee Stadium in classic fashion, celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt. The Bronx crowd was electric from start to finish as the Brooklyn legend delivered a masterclass in catalog performance.
He opened strong with "Can't Knock the Hustle," and right away dropped the big surprise guest: Beyonce. She joined him on stage to handle Mary J. Blige’s parts and added her own flair to a special remix. The stadium erupted, pure New York magic.
The set leaned heavily into Reasonable Doubt cuts while mixing in hits across his career. Other highlights included:
- Nas coming out for a legendary mash-up of “Dead Presidents” and “New York State of Mind.”
- Alicia Keys closing out one of the night’s biggest moments on “Empire State of Mind.”
- Blue Ivy joining on piano for “Feelin’ It.”
The energy stayed high the whole night. Jay sounded sharp, the production was clean, and the surprise appearances made it feel special. For a guy who doesn’t tour often, he reminded everyone why he’s still one of the greatest to ever do it. He also spit another freestyle to address people being mad at him doing business with Target.
