T.I. New Album Sold Over 21K In The First Week

Atlanta rap legend T.I. released his twelfth and reportedly final studio album, KILL THE KING, on June 26, 2026, via Grand Hustle/EMPIRE. Billed as the closing chapter to a storied career that spans over two decades, the project arrives with high expectations following the massive success of its lead single.

According to early tracking from Hits Daily Double, KILL THE KING is projected to move approximately 20,000–21,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This includes a mix of pure sales and streaming equivalents, with strong streaming numbers.

While this figure is modest compared to T.I.’s peak-era blockbusters, like King (522K first week in 2006) or Paper Trail (568K in 2008), it represents a respectable showing for an independent release in 2026’s streaming-dominated landscape. Many in the hip-hop community have noted it as “not bad for an independent artist,” especially given the lack of major-label backing and the current market realities where even established names often see lower pure sales.

For context, T.I.’s previous album The L.I.B.R.A. (2020) debuted with around 23K first-week units. The new project appears to be in a similar range, buoyed by the momentum from pre-release singles.
