Nicki Minaj Launches $10 Monthly X Subscription For Exclusive Content

 Nicki Minaj has officially activated paid subscriptions on her X account, giving fans the option to pay $10 a month for exclusive posts, private Spaces, and other subscriber-only perks.

The subscription, sometimes referred to by fans as #GagCitySub, unlocks gated posts that non-subscribers cannot see, access to private audio Spaces, and a special badge that appears next to subscribers’ names when they interact with her account. Regular posts on her timeline remain free and visible to everyone. She already has over 3,000 subscribers.

The launch drew mixed reactions. Some Barbz celebrated the closer access and quickly subscribed, posting screenshots of their new badges and expressing excitement for the exclusive content. Others criticized the move, questioning why a major star would put content behind a paywall and floating unverified claims about her finances amid ongoing legal disputes.

Minaj is currently involved in lawsuits, including one from a production company alleging roughly $275,000 in unpaid costs related to 2023 promotional events. She has denied personal liability in that matter. There is no confirmed link between the subscription launch and those cases.

Creator subscriptions have become a standard monetization tool on X, used by artists, journalists, athletes, and influencers to offer direct access to their most engaged followers. Minaj’s decision places her among high-profile names testing the feature with a large existing audience of more than 26 million followers. 

For now, the $10 monthly tier remains live, with Minaj continuing to post both free and subscriber-only content.
